Achieving Our Target
It is an intense moment at Maybank MoneyTree YES3 Challenge at Monash University Sunway Campus today. All 13 teams are almost equally strong and well prepared. Competition is tight, we prepared by night, and the mood is right. Two weeks of effort will be shown today.
Judges are there in the front row, fully equipped with their coffees and weapons, ready to shoot down the teams with their unmatched experience. What’s more, is the crowd of audience, waiting to watch a show, that might change the life of a few bright and truly prepared individual of the teams.
After 2 teams, the time has come for our team to present our business idea that we believe is the greatest. We are all out there, giving our fullest, talking like is the end of the world, without worrying what’s next or in front of us. But deep inside us, we feel like hurricane going on in our mind, trying to control our anxiety and covering up our nervousness, and pretend to be confident.
After 10 minutes and 4 seconds, we manage to convey our idea to the judges and audience. We march to the front, looking straight in the eyes of the judges, getting our self ready to be attacked by them. In just eight minutes, 5 questions has been thrown to us but we managed to answer each of those with seemingly logical ways. The audience was amazed, and the crowd was waken up by our loud presentation in this very morning of Saturday. We are very glad with our performance, and is confident that we will have a chance to pass through.
After all 13 great teams has presented, its time for the audience to cast their votes. With all votes are collected, it is then counted right in front of each team. Surprisingly, we got the highest count of 36 votes in total. That means, we are able to convince the audience and leave an impression in their mind although we are one of the earliest teams to present.
Now, here comes the cut. Tabulation of scores has been done, and the judges went home. What left, is the teams waiting to know their fate. With the heart-pumping background music of “Who wants to be a Millionaire” playing, each team’s leader are standing on the stage, waiting to be eliminated one by one. At first, Mkey got in, as well as Futsalex. And then, there goes Call21 and DaddySay. Finnaly, is us: GO-GET-IT. All our hard-work and late nights are paid off. We finally achieve our target of getting into the TOP 5.
